Questions

Questions we hear at the first call

What does a first call cost?

The first call is free and lasts about twenty minutes. We'll tell you whether you need a lawyer for this and, if so, what it would cost.

How do you charge?

Many purchases, sales and lease reviews have a flat fee we quote before we start. Disputes and court work are billed by the hour, with an estimate up front.

Do you work with buyers' and sellers' agents?

All the time. We handle the legal documents; your agent handles the deal. We copy them on what they need.

Can you represent both the buyer and the seller?

No. We represent one side of a transaction.

Do you handle property outside Central Oregon?

We take Oregon matters statewide by video, and Corwin is admitted in Washington.

What should I have ready for the call?

The contract or lease, the title report if you have one, any survey, and the questions you've been writing down.

How quickly can you look at a contract?

Tell us the deadline when you call. We'll say whether we can meet it before you send anything.

Is what I tell you confidential?

What you tell us when asking for legal advice is confidential. Still, please don't send confidential details through the website form; we'll ask for them on the call.

Didn't see your question?

Ask it on a first call. If we're not the right firm, we'll say so.
